    Why this recipe

Are you a smoothie lover? If you are, you should try a different version with cucumber!  Cucumber along with other hand-picked ingredients listed here will make a great tasting smoothie that will keep you energized throughout the day!

Cucumbers are important to add to your diet because they’re 95% water and naturally detoxify your body. Being rich in Vitamins A, B, and C, it’s an easy way to rejuvenate after a hard workout or a yoga session. Read here to see the health benefits of cucumber.

Enjoy the cucumber and pineapple smoothie for breakfast or sip it down slowly throughout the day if you plan to reduce solid food intake.

    Ingredients Note

A blender is filled with all the ingredients for cucumber smoothie

Cucumber: Any type of cucumber works for this recipe. If you are buying organic, you can leave the skin on. If not, be sure to peel the skin before adding it to the smoothie.

Pineapple: Use fresh or frozen pineapple. Frozen pineapple will give you a nice texture and also a cold smoothie.

Ginger: This helps in aiding digestion and as an anti-inflammatory. Just peel the skin of the ginger and add to the smoothies.

Mint leaves: The addition of mint leaves also helps in digestion and gives a nice aroma to the smoothie. If you feel a little discomfort in the throat because of pineapple, mint leaves help to avoid that too.

Apple: The addition of apple is optional but it gives body to the smoothie.

Liquid: Use cold water or coconut water or any type of fresh juice.  I used water for my recipe, but if you need a sweet note in the smoothie, add a mildly sweet juice like grape juice.

    How to make this recipe

Peel the skin of the cucumber and chop/slice it. Chop the pineapple pieces and apple. Peel the skin of ginger.

Now add them one by one to the blender and blend them to prepare your smoothie. I used Blendtec blender in smoothie mode.

    Recipe FAQ’s

Does pineapple and cucumber help lose weight?

Yes, Cucumbers and pineapple are the perfect combinations to help you to reduce weight. But I am not an expert in that area, so I prefer you to check with your doctor before you do anything.

    Can I use frozen pineapple?

Yes, you can use frozen pineapple. In fact, frozen pineapples give a better texture to your smoothie. If you are using canned pineapples, be sure not to use the syrup as it tends to be too sweet.

Do mint leaves taste good in smoothies?

Adding a few mint leaves to the smoothies will not taste bad. If you are sensitive to pineapples, mint leaves help in easing that too.

    Expert tips

    • Always drink the smoothie immediately especially if you add apples.
    • You can skip the apples and add any of your favorite choice of fruits.
    • If you like to add cucumber with skin to the smoothie, be sure to use organic cucumber.
