What type of naan bread is good?
It's easy to find naan bread in most grocery stores, so you have plenty of options.
You can use either traditional or gluten-free naan bread for this vegan naan pizza recipe.
I got my vegan naan or flatbread from Trader Joe's market. You can also find one on amazon from this link or prepare your own homemade wheat naan.
Ingredients note
- Naan bread: Choose the one that is soft and fits the size of your air fryer basket. I used a medium size vegan naan.
- Toppings: I used mushrooms and olives. Other viable options are bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, and Italian seasoning.
- Vegan cheese: Use a mozzarella-style cheese alternative from Trader Joe's market
- Pizza sauce: There are plenty of options for this. You could use plain tomato sauce, marinara sauce, or pesto. I used the marinara sauce on my pizza.
Instructions
Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees F for 2-3 minutes.
Place the naan bread on a baking sheet or chopping board and spread a layer of pizza or pasta sauce.
Add your desired toppings, like mushrooms and olives, followed up with vegan mozzarella cheese. (my kids helped with this 😍)
Place the naan in the air fryer basket and spray a light layer of olive oil over the top.
Air fry for 5-7 minutes, until the cheese, is melted and the naan is crispy.
Lay the pizza on a wire rack or parchment paper and let it cool down a little
Serve warm, garnished with chopped herbs or fresh basil if desired. Enjoy!
