About this recipe
I have used an air fryer to make frozen broccoli, baby carrots, tandoori cauliflower, and frozen okra. Along the same lines, now it's time to make roasted beets.
I love to pair beets with a variety of options. For this recipe, I tried it with a side of rice and dal.
But you can eat these roasted beets as a snack or side dish with your main meal. The flavorful roasted beets could also be used in salads, wraps, or tacos.
This air fryer roasted beets recipe is slightly different from other recipes. Because I have added a few interesting spices and cubed onions.
Beets come in many different varieties like red, yellow, and striped beets. Each variation has its own taste.
So your choice of beets can have a big impact. Red beets are the most common variety and often are round-shaped with a sweet taste.
For this healthy snack recipe, I used red beets.
Basic Ingredients note
Red beets: I used fresh, raw beets, but you could also use frozen beets and adjust the cooking time accordingly. Golden beets are another good option to sub red beets for great tasting air-fried beets.
Spices: This is the secret behind the great taste. I used black pepper and sabji masala powder. Sabji masala powder is a blend of different spices that are commonly used in Indian cuisine. You could also have your own blend of aromatic spices.
Onion: I used red onion for this recipe, but you could also leave it out if desired. Onions bring a sweeter taste to the dish,
Olive oil: I used extra virgin olive oil as well as avocado oil with equally good results.
