My first recipe for an Indian pickle... Lemon Chili Pickle - Four main ingredients make up this wonderful pickle that can boost your immune system. It is a spicy and sour pickle with the goodness of ginger in every bite. The procedure cannot be any simpler. All it takes is a little patience to allow the lemon chunks to soften.
Lemon Chili pickle can also stay fresh in your pantry for months and comes in very handy when you need extra flavor for your meal. I plan to make more varieties with other vegetables in the future without compromising on the taste or the ease of preparation.
Nimbu Mirch ka achar is best served as a side dish to spice up any curry or paired up with dosa or Rotis
The pickle serves as a flavor enhancer and is eaten typically in small pieces with the rest of the meal. There are a wide variety of different pickles In India.
Each is usually made with a mixture of fruits or vegetables which are chopped and marinated in oil or salt and a variety of different spices and salt. Try it today!
Directions
- In a large bowl, add all the ingredients one by one and mix well.
- Pack them in an air tight container and shelf it for 3 days.
- Check to see if the lemon wedges have softened. If not, continue to shelf for another day.

This is so interesting! I make middle-eastern preserved lemons all the time, usually with whole coriander seeds or bay, but it;s never occurred to me to add chilis and ginger 🙂
