Press the saute button and add oil to the inner pot.
1 tablespoon avocado oil
Add star anise and garlic cloves, and sauté for a few seconds.
4 garlic cloves, 3 star anise
Add scallions/green onions, salt, and black pepper and mix well.
1 bunch scallion, salt to taste, ½ teaspoon black pepper powder
Add the washed and drained rice to the pot. Add water and give it a good mix.
1 cup basmati rice, 1 ½ cup water
Close the lid and press the manual or pressure cook button on high for 4 minutes.
When cooking is done, let the pressure release naturally (NPR).
Once the pressure is released, open the lid and fluff the rice with a fork.
Serve the green onion rice hot with any curry or dal you choose. Enjoy!
