Best Sweet Plantain Recipe (Fried)
Fried sweet plantains are very popular in many parts of the world. This sweet plantain recipe is authentic and delicious with cardamom flavored sugar syrup. Only ripe plantains work best for this recipe.
Servings: 4 people
- 4 ripe plantain
- 1 cup refined sugar
- 1 ½ cup water
- 3-4 green Cardamom
- 2-3 tablespoon oil
Peel the skins off the Plantains and slice them ½ inch thick.
Prepare the sugar syrup( sugar and water) in a medium size pot. Boil the syrup for about15 minutes. Then add the cardamoms.Set the syrup aside.
In a medium size pan, heat one tablespoon of oil and as it heats up, fry the sliced plantains.
Fry to a golden crispy texture and let it soak in the sugar syrup for at least 10 minutes.
Fried Sweet Plantains are ready! Serve warm with vegan cream or without cream.
