  • Place a pan over medium heat and add oil.
  • As the oil heats up, add cumin seeds.
  • When the cumin seeds sizzle, chopped onions and saute until they turn translucent.
  • Now, add chopped okra and cook on high heat for 2 min.
  • Add all the spices and mix gently.
  • When they turn crispy, add salt to taste and mix well.
  • Okra Fry is ready! Serve them hot with steamed rice or roti!

Notes

  • Leftovers make a delicious filling for a sandwich.
  • You can add roasted peanuts as a final garnish for variation.
  • Use a nonstick pan if you like to add less coconut oil or any oil.
  • Add sambar powder or curry powder for variation.
