Ingredients

  • 3 lemongrass leaves crushed
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 3 cup water

Instructions

  • Rinse your lemongrass to get rid of dirt and dust. Watch out for those sharp edges as you cut them, as they can deliver a sharp cut sometimes.
  • Keep a pot for boiling water over your stovetop and add in your lemongrass leaves. This is also a good time to add grated or crushed ginger root if you prefer to use ginger.
3 lemongrass leaves crushed, 1 teaspoon grated ginger, 3 cup water
  • Simmer your tea in the pot covered for about 10 minutes. Switch off the heat.
  • Strain the lemongrass leaves and ginger roots, from the tea and serve hot with or without sugar.

Notes

  • Slightly crush the lemongrass to get maximum flavor infusion.
  • I've used homegrown lemongrass leaves. If you do not have a lemongrass plant, you could buy lemongrass stalks from any grocer.
  • The best part of this recipe is that you don't need specific measurements of the ingredients. Just add more or less to suit your taste.
