- 3 lemongrass leaves crushed
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 3 cup water
Rinse your lemongrass to get rid of dirt and dust. Watch out for those sharp edges as you cut them, as they can deliver a sharp cut sometimes.
Keep a pot for boiling water over your stovetop and add in your lemongrass leaves. This is also a good time to add grated or crushed ginger root if you prefer to use ginger.
3 lemongrass leaves crushed, 1 teaspoon grated ginger, 3 cup water
Simmer your tea in the pot covered for about 10 minutes. Switch off the heat.
Strain the lemongrass leaves and ginger roots, from the tea and serve hot with or without sugar.
- Slightly crush the lemongrass to get maximum flavor infusion.
- I've used homegrown lemongrass leaves. If you do not have a lemongrass plant, you could buy lemongrass stalks from any grocer.
- The best part of this recipe is that you don't need specific measurements of the ingredients. Just add more or less to suit your taste.
