In a large bowl stir yeast, warm water, and one teaspoon sugar.
Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes.
Add the remaining sugar and other ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
If the dough is still sticky, add just a little more flour. One tablespoon at a time until the dough becomes smooth.
Cover the bowl with a clean towel and let the dough rise for one hour in a warm place.
After an hour or so, punch down the dough by folding it over a few times. Then let the dough rise for 10 minutes.
Prepare little balls of dough and place them aside.
In a medium pan, heat the frying oil until it ready for the donut holes.
Fry the donut holes individually. Flip them to the other side,when they turn golden brown.
Place the holes on a parchment paper to absorb the extra oil and let them cool.
Roll them on a sheet of powdered or crystal sugar or your favorite glazing.
