But it’s the ingredients and method of cooking that make up the calories and today’s recipe is one that will make you a dosa lover! This dosa is made from Moong dal, Oats, and rice flour. The protein from moong dal, fiber from oats and carbs from the rice makes it a balanced dish. So prepare this lip-smacking dosa recipe for your breakfast, lunch or dinner and you’ll never complain about dosas not being healthy.

Yellow moong dal is extremely light and easy to digest. It is easier to cook compared to other dals and one of the best low carb dal available. On other hands, rolled oats are also very easy to cook. Today’s recipe combines the best from both of these superfoods to present you with Moong Dal Oats Dosa.

Moong Dal Oats DosaThe list of ingredients is relatively small with very little prep work involved compared to other dosa recipes. As I mentioned earlier, yellow moong dal is very easy to cook, however, you will have to soak it in water for a couple of hours to get the best results. Moong Dal Oats Dosa

Yellow moong dal is extremely light and easy to digest. It is easier to cook compared to other dals and one of the best low carb dal available. On other hands, rolled oats are also very easy to cook. Today’s recipe combines the best from both of these superfoods to present you with Moong Dal Oats Dosa.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Dry yellow moong dal
  • 1 Cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 Cup rice flour
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 Cup water
  • 2 green chilies
  • 1/2 inch ginger
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Soak Yellow Moong Dal in water for at least 2 hours.

    Drain the water and blend with all other ingredients with water except rice flour.


  2. Pour the batter into a bowl and mix in the rice flour. Mix well to remove all lumps.


  3. Heat the griddle or skillet, pour the batter on to griddle and spread it thin to a round shape. Drizzle a couple of drops of oil.

    When dosa turns golden brown, reduce the heat.


  4. If you prefer a cone dosa: With a scissor, make a cut starting from the outer end and cut to the center.

    Roll the dosa, starting from the cut to end in a cone shape. 

Serve them hot with coconut chutney or sambar!
