How To Make Lemonade Without Added Sugar – Watermelon Lemonade Recipe
As of this week, it is officially Summer! Let us kick off the season with a refreshing lemonade drink with a surprise ingredient, that will quench anyone’s thirst after an evening of outdoor activity or a high-intensity workout. I say that because you do not need a drink that is loaded with sugar or preservative, at the end of a workout. You need something that is naturally sweet and refreshing. That’s why you would need to replace the sugar with Watermelons!
My kids LOVE lemonade. Who doesn’t, really? I prefer to squeeze lemons instead of using concentrates. As for watermelons, the sweeter the better! This is indeed the best time to buy watermelons, as they tend to be the sweetest in early summer. Sometimes the luck of the draw does not work in our favor. The melon you choose can sometimes be bland. In those cases, you will want to add a little maple syrup. It was a trial and error exercise to find the best ratio of watermelons to lemon juice, but I think I have a winning combination here. It is a lemonade with a tangy ZING but with a sweet aftertaste.
Try it today and enjoy the simple pleasure of a lemonade in a refreshingly new twist. If you like this, please leave a comment here or on my Facebook page. You can also get them directly in your inbox by just subscribing to my newsletter.
